Back at it!
Alrighty....papers written....second residency done....I'm well on my way to........Ill tell you when I figure it out.
In the meantime I had a productive night. I have a lot ideas(listed in my last post) I am brewing right now and I am delving into a couple tonight. I though about printing on plates with the process and then photographing it and printing the photograph. Making the plate almost like a dinner itself. I am not sure where this is going but the joy if it is that I should be able to wash the plate and make another anytime I want!! Check out these images:

I have done three plates and I have just placed an onion and an orange on them to see how the juices take and how it dries. From this test I will be able to make dinners and then do this process with a dinner plate. Sounds more exciting right?
This was my work bench for the night:
I also had an idea of making some sort of quilt....not sure again what the purpose of that was but I really wanted to dye fabrics now and not paper. I got three 1/2 yard portions of different fabric. One cotton like, one that feels synthetic, and one that is like felt. Check these colors out!
Wow! The felt paper I thought would be a good material to use while it is still wet, the others I am going to let dry for the night and see what I can do with them tomorrow....I pressed some produce into a couple pieces and then I rolled some into a couple others. We shall see what happens over night.
Here is what I did with the felt pieces:
Ok. While juicing...I obviously did some more prints like I used to with the colors and the watercolor paper. Tomorrow I may mix some juices and coat some others. This is where I am at right now.... I also want to coat a ton of paper and make studies and photographs of them decomposing. Ill leave it for another day.
Thats all for now folks! See you next time!

Check out Keith Johnson and Cary Wolinsky both came to speak with the MFA students during this current residency. Interesting perceptions and views on photography and the way we present it to the viewer.

I hope to have my video uploaded by the end of the day. I have been slaving over it. Other than that I have been reading, writing, printing and everything else to keep up with my last meeting with Caleb Charland my mentor for this residency on Sunday and the next residency which starts in a week!!!! Thank goodness for vacation. Here are some new photos that I have been lazy and not posting on the blog recently. :) Cant wait to post the video, it took forever but was really fun to put together. Stay tuned.

I promise I have been busy! So busy I dont have time to blog. Too much to read, write, photograph and we you get the idea. I have prints from my negatives, I have scans, I have a lot done and yet there is always more to do. Winding down this semester. Hopefully I ll have a spare moment to blog what I have done in full detail during my upcoming vacation.

Images that were taken yesterday showing the gestures that i have been doing. pressing, juicing, painting, and i have yet to capture walking into rain and a couple other gestures.
Latest of this print. Was made yesterday and I am letting it dry out. I think the squeezing is the most exciting for colors and textures.
Freezing rain on the coated paper.

Map making
I have been printing digitally I can assure you of that. I will be in the darkroom this weekend and shooting another roll of film to send two out on Monday. Finding it hard to stay focused and not get frustrated at this point. I am looking for peers and mentors to review and discuss my work. I am looking forward to the next residency. Here are some images of what I have going on in my basement.
what I am doing is trying to remember which piece lead me to another piece and so on. I am trying to solve a mystery and I attempt this three times in these images. I added more to the last attempt just to see how that would play in.

Spending the day scanning again and editing for a big printing day tomorrow. WHile scanning I think....what about layers? What if I was to scan in all the pomegranate images and align them into their own print....what would happen. Last week I made some digital prints that was successful and I have been drawing in my head how I am going to go about this "mapping" idea. I may be saving this until I get good scans of all the materials because I really think I want to be interactive with it and draw and make holes through the images showing the journey I have been on.
Thats all for now, tomorrow I will be printing large images. Looking forward to it. Also exited for some snow that I have not been able to capture on my coated papers.
Stay tuned....
