Upcoming Group Exhibition

Just had a phone interview from a student at Stonehill College for their upcoming show this winter. I have been selected to exhibit a smaller version of my Thesis Exhibition: Persuasive Repulsion. Stay tuned for more information....

Could it be...... could it be I might have new work soon? Why yes! Yes it could! Meanwhile stay tuned to see if my work in a local gallery in Massachusetts so you can go and admire it! Just saying.

Slowly getting back to work....

Things are getting moving over here after my "back to work" has almost been shed. Looking forward to making new work!

Discomfort Food

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 10th; 5:00 to 7:00pm

There has been a dramatic coming together in recent years of the disciplines of high art and food. Contemporary artists have used food as a medium, food photography is a growing and lucrative profession, exhibitions have been held in major museums on the theme of food. This exhibit will focus on a particular theme running through contemporary food-related art, namely the strange and alien nature of food when taken out of its natural context.

Artists include: Stephanie Chubbuck, Harold Edgerton, Emily Eveleth, Beth Galton, Michiko Kon, Nate Larson, Ilana Manolson, Vera Mercer, Tara Sellios, Richella Simard, Kathleen Volp.

Turn for the MFA Blog

Ok, so all of you who have followed or are following I am going to be using this blog for a professional artists blog now. As noted, a name change, and other alterations on the blog to adjust it properly. Those of you who may be current MFA students and using it as a resource can access all my posts made during the MFA program, artist connections I have listed with websites, and previous selected (earlier) written work from my MFA. Most likely my Thesis Paper will be posted in its own page here as well so if you are interested in reading that, watch for it. I will have an updated resume as well. 

Continue to look and learn as the travel of a growing artist continues!

New things are happening! Set up my darkroom with all the right fixings....bought new lights.....starting new ideas.....getting ready for a photo shoot. That and a lot of other things. Ill be away next week at a week long AP Workshop in Acadia Maine at Schoodic Intitutes, super exciting. I have entered into a couple shows and am working on some more entries as we speak. Stay tuned as always...

Hi all!

This blog was originally created for my MFA program and although I will continue to use it, I also want to make people aware that most of the work here is ideas and not completed.

Last residency

I am starting to feel like I have no idea what I am talking about anymore……since the last residency. Oh shit. What to do.

Cross those fingers….my show is in about five months!!!! Posts will not be as regular anymore due to my focus on my thesis paper and exhibition. Nervous already but thats ok, it means I care right?

Anyways, thinking mold and food. Sound familiar? Im sure I will be dabbling with some presentation ideas soon once my Amazon shipment gets in. Im thinking about creating my plates for use on Monday….oh boy!

Pantone

I swear I have been working on a LOT of things…..just not blogging.

Here is a sneak peak to some things. I made my own Pantone Postcards! Using artificial foods and the dimensions of a card along with the ingredients of the food. Super awesome!

I also did some film. I have no shots of some of the relationships I did, not sure but I forgot to take digital images, but here are some of the compliment studies I have been interested in. Going to work with the anthotype process again to make an actual compliment to this piece. Look for them next week!!!!!
