Mentor

Ok so its been a while.....I have wedding but no real excuses. I have been getting outside which is where I find my peace this last week and doing a lot of thinking and of course trying to catch up on all my reading material I signed myself up for.

I met Caleb Charland for the first time yesterday and it was fantastic! I am reassured and excited to be where I am right now. I will continue my process of printing on leaves and using plant matter to create my own emulsions. A couple things that I am going to test out.

-Making a camera obscura to see if I can photograph the sunlight coming in on a leaf as it comes up and goes down.
-building a table in my yard, or maybe even a green house, just to capture sunlight in to expose multiple leaves at once.
- I will be experimenting with taking a beet, carrot, blueberries, and using them as emulsion to make a photogram of them....
-Experimenting with taking a whole leaf and its root system out of the ground to expose itself on itself. Wrapping the root onto the leaf and then seeing what kind of results I get
-Scanning the leaves and experimenting with them in that context...can I turn them into negatives?
- printing the negative that was effected by the leaf print and water damage to see what that adds to an image
-keeping it simple and beautiful. really identifying the sun as my source of light and life. None of this would be possible without the sun.

There is a lot to plan for so I am hoping I can really plan out my next lab day which I suspect to be Monday to really accomplish a good handle on most of these tests I have proposed.

For now....its work and weddings until I am free after this weekend. I assure you I will have many things to write about after this.
