Anthotype Photography

So I have fallen in love with the Anthotype Photograph Process. This is by far going to absorb a lot of my time once I get all my ducks in a row. Really going to experiment with this process. My connection with nature and the photograph, its amazing to have both in one.

Im thinking of making these images using this process and then make another image presenting these images back into nature. Then making an images that will be long lasting....

Time will tell. Let the process begin!

Exercise.

Doing some of this with film but thought I would post a couple digital images of my idea. I have two amazing dogs and they mean the world to me so I am exposing their view.....Maybe Ill make one they can wear!

I am also playing with the frame. Besides Holga I have never really photographed in a square format. Im trying it out.

More shoe images....again just trying to get into the feeling of not having to break down every nit picking detail to make one image. Also playing with a square format here.

I suddenly had this fascination of printing on leaves. Not that this would go over well because the leaves would then die but what if that was what I wanted to represent? I will be going out on a walk tomorrow to see what I find and what I photograph. I will shoot digital and film.

Some fun was had yesterday and I photographed my food.....hmmmmm another assignment maybe. Again, playing with a square frame.

Midnight Thought

Here I am 2.51am and woke because, well looks like my brain told me too. I officially wake to use the bathroom and while opening my bedroom door, to take a step to the left and urinate, I am fascinated with the beautiful streak of moonlight that is coming through the windows. When does the moon hit the window? If I close my shades differently, can I manipulate the projection coming into my house? How long of an exposure would need to be done? Looks like I have another assignment to tackle............

First Steps into New Work

Some new work this morning....

Assignment #1: Letting go of the "perfect" image

These are raw images....they have not been touched in any editing software.

Assignment #2

Taking a photograph every time I put my shoes on or take them off. Trying to accept the on camera flash.....

Other assignments are being produced but are with film and polaroid....just play play play like I said. Let me know what you think, this is only the beginning.

My First Mentor

Caleb Charland, I can not wait to meet him. I have chosen this photographer as my first mentor because of how he builds a work of art and uses the photograph to document it. Its beautiful. Check it out for yourself: http://calebcharland.com
